12. Permission to rest
00:01:01 Malin Pousette: This episode is a little different. I want to give you rest today because sometimes we need others to tell us and give us an invitation to take a break in the middle of the day and slow all the way down. To pause, to rest, to take a nap or simply let your body soften.
00:01:28 Malin Pousette: So, if you can, find a place to lie down, Maybe in your bed, on the couch, on your yoga mat, or in a blanket in the grass. Let yourself be held, supported, safe. You don't need to be productive right now. You don't need to stay awake or stay focused. You can drift. You can receive. So... Make yourself comfortable. Close down your eyes if that feels safe. And let your arms rest by your sides, palms facing up. Notice your breath. You don't need to change it yet. Just feel it. Notice. Are you breathing fast or slow? How does it feel inside your body, in your mind? Is it a lot that is going on? Just notice, Nothing you need to do. Nothing you need to fix. You're just allowed to be here. Let your body be heavy. Let the earth hold you. You are safe to soften. Now begin to deepen your breath. Slowly, gently, inhale through your nose. And feel your belly rise just like a wave. And exhale through your mouth. And feel that your body melts a little bit deeper. Again, inhale and fill your whole body with your breath. Exhale and let your shoulders drop, your jaw soften, And let each breath become a message. You are allowed to rest. You are safe. You are enough. Now gently bring your attention to your feet. Feel where they meet the ground or the bed beneath you. Notice your toes, the soles, the heels. Let them soften. Let them be held. And bring your awareness to your ankles and your lower legs. Allow them to feel warm, heavy, And at ease. Now your knees and tights. Notice any tension you might be holding here. And again, let it melt away. Let your legs grow heavier, more grounded with every breath. Gently shift your attention to your hips, your genitals. This place of power, of emotion, of holding. There's nothing you need to carry right now. Let it be soft. Let it be safe. Now go to your lower belly, your center. Place a breath here. Gentle, slow, and kind. Let everything loosen. Let it be. And we go up to your ribs and your chest. Feel the rise and fall of your breath. Notice your heartbeat. Steady and true. Allow your chest to open. Allow your heart to rest. Bring your awareness to your back. From your lower spine all the way up to your shoulder blades. Let it be supported. Let your back release into the earth or cushion beneath you. Soften breath by breath. Now your shoulders. Feel into your shoulders. Are you holding any tension here? Just let them drop. They carry so much. Let them know they can rest. Now bring your attention to your arms. Your elbows, your wrists, your hands. Feel energy gently moving through them. Unclench. Unwind. Let your fingers be soft. Open and relaxed. Now, focus on your neck and throat. This sacred space of expression. This too, let it be open. Let it be free. Maybe taking an inhale here to really breathe into your throat and notice what is going on here. And when you feel ready, Put your attention to your jaw. Soften it. Let your tongue rest gently in your mouth. Unhinge. Unclench. Now your face Your cheeks, your nose, your eyes. Let your eyelids be heavy. Relax the area around your brows. Smooth the space between your eyebrows. Let your forehead soften and let your whole scalp relax. And now just feel your whole body. From the tips of your toes to the crown of your head. A soft wave of ease flowing through you. You are held. You are supported. You are loved. There is nothing to do, nowhere to go, no one to be. You are enough, just as you are, right here, right now, in this exact moment. Breathe gently and simply just be. You can stay in the stillness as long as you like. You might drift off into a nap. You might simply breathe and rest. Or this was exactly the pause you needed. Whatever your body needs, trust it. This is your permission to slip, to do nothing, to rest without guilt, to receive the medicine of stillness.
00:10:08 Malin Pousette: Until next time, let's begin within. And
